What We Do

The Garden seeks to create agenda-free spaces for community for people who do and don’t follow Jesus to have real relationships with each other. We actively seek out spaces to love and serve the world with no strings attached. We get together every week to have dinner and help each other in our mission.

“The kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how.”

— jesus christ (mark 4:26-27)

Our Story

The Garden was born in 2019 by a group of young adults who had been a part of The Inn University Ministries. Over 40+ years, The Inn served thousands of college students in Bellingham, but in Fall 2019, The Garden was born out of it to reimagine and experiment with inviting and empowering young adults to experience the kingdom of God.

Get Involved

If you live near one of our gardens, get involved to receive portions of each harvest. We accept volunteers regardless of skill level. There is a rotation in roles, but we’ll teach you all the skills you need to know. Teenagers 14 years and older can earn community service credits for school in addition to getting produce for their families. Donations are also vital to our growth, as we use them for seed, fertilizer, tools, and outreach.
